The book Obvious Adams – first published in 1916 – was one of David Ogilvy’s favorite books. He made the book mandatory reading for everybody in the agency and re-reading it every year. Why every year? David experienced that re-reading a book repeatedly reveals a refreshment of one’s thinking. The book covers: five tests of obviousness & five creative approaches to the obvious. We have never been more shortage in common sense than in the current time with an overload of information. As a result, we often miss out on hidden opportunities, the obvious solution. Obvious solutions are hidden out in the open. We are overlooking the obvious. Thinking inside the box can be a good thing.
