The purpose

“Knowledge not applied is worthless”

Why is refreshing knowledge important? Here we come to the core purpose of the Global Reading Club, which is best described by a quote from Confucius: “Knowledge not applied is worthless”.

The formatting of the knowledge makes it applicable in the real world. For example, the Podcast content is based on Guiding Principles. Guiding Principles are do’s and don’ts in our daily life, that influence our thinking, acting, and behavior, when making decisions or judge things that matter.

You need a reservoir of topics to refresh your knowledge continuously. The Global Reading Club offers such a reservoir. Remember, you are only as good as your sources.

The promise

No time to read is history

The Global Reading Club aggregates, contextualizes, and categorizes knowledge from industry relevant and inspirational books. Books are read and edited by dedicated Ogilvy people with the help of proved guidelines. They edit insights, ideas, key research findings, and learnings from, often global research or a lifelong experience of the author. Found knowledge is stored in one location in standardized formats, making specific knowledge easy to find and absorb. Within a matter of hours, you will grasp the essence of a book. You can easily read and absorb the learnings from 4 books each month. It will only take you 3 hours of reading each week. This is fast learning in a fast-moving world.

The books

The must-read books

Only recommended books by the Ogilvy’s Inspiration Library, Ogilvy Red Papers, WPP Atticus Award winners, and key Ogilvy and WPP people are selected. These are all ‘must-read’ books to grow your intellectual capital. The difference is that the Global Reading Club use dedicated reader/editors who have read and edited these books using strict universal guidelines. The idea is that the content of the book has been analyzed and written in easy-to-understand sentences. Less frequently used English words are explained on basis of the Cambridge English Dictionary in the Summary and Mindmap.
