Redesigning Leadership
Design, Technology, Business, Life
There are basically four types of leaders: the ‘Creative’, the ‘Technologist’, the ‘Professor’ and the ‘Human’ as leader. A ‘Creative’ leader is someone who leads with dirty hands, much the way an artist’s hands are often literally dirty with paint. With the ‘Technologist’ as leader, technology answers only part of the problems in organisations, because the emotional context is missing. People are looking for the human touch. The ‘Professor’ leader’s task is to create conditions to form a team that people want to be on. The ‘Human’ leader tries to remain true to their hopeful ideas and guiding ideals, knowing their limitations. Making mistakes is human, you don’t always have to be right, but always be real. ‘Humility is noble’. In all cases, respect is earned and should not be assumed because of your position.
