The 48 Laws of Power
We live in a world where everything must appear civilized, decent, democratic, and fair. It may seem like this, but the reality is often different. The thing is: “No one wants less power; everyone wants more”, which is the observation of the author. Most people behave in an acceptable way, while they play the power game. The 48 Laws of Power, however, gives you insight in the behavior of people. The more you realize how these laws play out in real life, the more you will realize how in the proper time, place, and balance you can and should sometimes use some of these laws for your own purposes (which I hope are benevolent). The 48 laws are not based on academic or representative research. And as you might expect, therefore the author has encountered critical feedback. Nevertheless, over a million copies of the book have been sold, in 24 languages.
