The Coming Wave
Technology, Power, and the Twenty-First Century's Greatest Dilemma
The Coming AI Wave cannot be stopped, just like the many waves from the past. The challenge is to understand the consequences of this revolutionary phase, influencing our lives and our work. Historic and more recent waves – like the invention of the combustion engine, the coming of the internet and the smartphone – feel now natural to all of us. And quite frankly we cannot believe to live without these inventions anymore. AI is about deep learning, moving our thinking, discovering new and very clever things we have never thought of before. Just like the previous waves, AI has caused already a sheer powerful flood of change. In the coming 3 years we will experience an unstoppable wave globally. And not at a slow pace. There are no boarders, no rules, no legislation or any other causes to stop this wave with the power to be transformative in many human activities. We better, all of us, understand what the consequences are for us personally, our work and the way we will continue our travel on this planet, embrace what AI will offer us.
